And Then There Were Three
I'm very happy to say that we will be adding one more scalawag to the trek roster, Jeph Smith! That now puts the party at Stew, Jeph, and myself. There will be some scrambling over the next month to get everything in order before leave, but the excitment is growing steadily. It looks like our launch date is going to be closer to June 1st due to Jeph and Stew's later graduation dates this May, but this will just give us more time to square away our gear and get as much time in with our families and friends.

First Post!
Hey Everyone!
This is the first post of many to come in Mat Stewart and Peter Dearborn's excellent adventure on the Appalachian Trail. For those of you that know us well, you've probably been subjected to hours of AT conversation with or with out your expressed consent (sorry about that); for those that don't, Stewy and I are attempting to do a northbound thru-hike of the Appalachian trail from Springer Mt. in Georgia to Katahdin in Maine (2,175 miles) during the summer and fall months. Stew and I plan to leave for the trail soon after we graduate (Stew from Boston University, me from UMaine) in late May. I'll be posting more information as we get closer to our launch date and throughout our trip to keep in contact with the people we love back at home. Happy Trails!
